Home pro Greg Farrow played his Links Golf Club course in 2-under-par 68 yesterday to win the Philadelphia PGA's $6,025 DeSimone Open in Marlton.

Farrow birdied three of the last four holes in prevailing by a stroke for the $1,000 first prize. After bogeying the 14th hole, he birdied 15, 17 and 18 and missed another bird on 16 when his putt ran in and out of the cup. He also birdied the 2d and 10th holes.

Second prize of $750 went to Brian Kelly of Kennett Square, who shot a 69. Defending champion Pete Oakley of Shawnee Country Club in Milford, Del., tied for third place at 70 with Jim Booros of Allentown, with each earning $510.

The tournament, sponsored by Tony DeSimone, owner of The Links, opened the Philadelphia PGA season.
