Track Athletes Honored

As former President Gerald R. Ford (center) looks on, Lee McRae (right), a University of Pittsburgh sprinter, accepts the 1986 Jumbo Elliott Award from former Villanova track star Eamonn Coghlan. The award, named for the late Villanova track coach, honors the year's outstanding male track performer. University of Texas sprinter Juliet Cuthbert won the award for outstanding female track performer. Ford was a guest speaker at the ceremony at the Overbrook Golf Club in Villanova.
