The automatic teller machine must meet planning commission requirements for traffic flow around it, the board said, with barriers if required by the
commission.
Though the zoning board agreed that there could be fewer parking spaces than the minimum township-code requirement, it said the spaces must be the regulation 9 feet by 20 feet and cannot border the property lines. A minimum of 485 spaces is to be provided; the code would have required 528 spaces. All other township parking rules must be met, the board said.
The shopping center, at Routes 30 and 401, will be enlarged with the addition of adjacent land to the east that has been bought by Morelli. Expansion plans have been pending before various township boards since last year, but a number of problems remain unsolved, according to township officials, with details that do not meet township codes.
In another case, the board voted unanimously to allow construction of an Avellino Tire Service Center on the northeast corner of Route 30 and Malin Road, where there is already a gas station.
Bernard Cunningham, president of Avellino, told the board that his company would lease a new building from the property owner, Gary Karakelian, and that it would service cars and sell and install tires. He also said that a land- development plan for the property was pending before township officials.
The new building will have 6,300 square feet and will be 22 feet high, according to Walter Wyckoff, architect for Avellino. He said that the lot had 69,000 square feet and that the building would meet township code requirements for setbacks, parking, ground coverage, drainage and other features.
