Subdivision Plan Is Endorsed

Posted: November 30, 1986

The Upper Providence Township Planning Commission has approved a preliminary plan for the construction of 27 single-family houses on a 33-acre tract at 1950 Providence Rd.

A historic farmhouse will remain on the land, according to the plan submitted by the Boxwood Corp.

However, in endorsing the plan Tuesday by a 7-0 vote, the commission said Boxwood must meet the township's storm-water drainage rules, get approval from the state Department of Transportation for the subdivision road's access onto Providence Road and form a homeowners' association.

The commission also approved by a 7-0 vote a sketch plan submitted by Eugene and Pat Castagliuolo to divide a one-acre lot on Farnum Road into two lots. They plan to build a house on one of the lots. A house already stands on the other lot.

The Castagliuolos were told by the commission that they may submit their preliminary plans at the Dec. 16 Township Council meeting.
