Posted: December 11, 1986

The Wyncote Academy Lions received 24 points from John Darden and 9 from Mark Drayton, but visiting Woodlynde Academy outscored them in every quarter but the fourth and took a 71-45 Tri-County Conference victory Monday.

Led by Skip Tyree and Greg Hamilton, the Warriors jumped out to a 20-9 first quarter lead and extended it to 35-19 by halftime.

In the third quarter, Woodlynde put the game out of reach by outscoring the Lions, 19-6.

One of the big problems for Wyncote was at the free throw line. Although Woodlynde connected on just seven of 13 foul shots, the Lions did even worse, making only five of 13.

Tyree ended with 29 points for Woodlynde, and Hamilton finished with 20. The loss was the first of the season for Wyncote, against two victories. It was Woodlynde's first victory, against two losses.
