Lewis H. Lapham's Dec. 13 Op-ed Page column, "Surviving the White House follies," was the best yet. It was also good for a few laughs - especially the closing line "On watching Reagan's bungling geopoliticians wander in and out of press conferences . . . at least it's reassuring that they didn't choose to become airline pilots or water engineers or surgeons."
