'Like 2 Peas In A Cup' Twin Boys Did Everything Together

Like many twins, Daniel and David Young were extremely close, and neighbors said that if they saw one, they would see the other.

But, said neighbors, the Young family was really a threesome - the 8-year- old twins and their mother, Darcell.

"They were real close - they did everything together," said Lula Moyer, who lives across the street from the Young family on Indiana Avenue near 20th Street in North Philadelphia."She was the type who was really into her kids."

Neighbors said the twins' mother often took the children with her when she left the house, even if it was only for a short trip to the store.

The two boys were liked by everyone in the neighborhood, said Cora Miller, 65, whom the twins called "Grandma."

"Everybody loves them," she said. "They're just like two peas in a cup, you see one you see the other."

Neighbors said the twins, third-graders at St. Columba School, 23rd Street and Lehigh Avenue, were very well-mannered and well-behaved.

"They never got into any trouble," said one neighbor.

"She had them in the house at a certain time," said Moyer. "They enjoyed playing with the other kids. They weren't the type who liked to fight."

Neighbors said that in the summertime, Darcell Young, took the children to a local YWCA, and sometimes to the beach in Atlantic City.
