A 4-alarm Blaze In Delran

Posted: March 19, 1988

A ladder truck is moved into position, at top, to deal with a four-alarm blaze at the Hunters Glen Apartments on U.S. Route 130 in Delran as a township firefighter with protective mask, at right, ventures through the smoky, second-floor rubble. Ten unoccupied units of the 16 in Building 87 were destroyed yesterday, according to fire officials, who said that the first alarm was struck at 1:56 p.m. and that the blaze was declared under control about an hour later. Sparks from a maintenance worker's blowtorch on the second floor apparently caused the fire, officials said.
