Free Workshops Offered At School Of Technology

The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce and the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology are co-sponsoring free technology workshops for business people and educators.

Workshops in office and computer technologies, computer-aided drafting and manufacturing processes will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon next Thursday, Aug. 5 and Sept. 15 at the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology, 800 Manchester Ave., Rose Valley.

The workshops were developed by the Business/Education Partnership Committee of the chamber. Robert Zabek, dean of instruction at the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology, is coordinating the workshops.

Melvin Rudman of Wallingford has joined the board of directors of the Taylor Hospital Foundation.

Rudman is a managing partner in the accounting firm of Elko, Fischer, McCabe and Rudman, which has offices in Media, West Chester and Norristown. Rudman is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.

The Taylor Hospital Foundation is the parent company of Taylor Hospital and Park Care Corp.

Frank McKee, a member of the board of directors of the Home Builders Association of Delaware and Chester Counties, has been honored by that group as builder of the year.

McKee is a partner in the McKee Group, a Drexel Hill firm that develops and manages apartment complexes, commercial centers, housing developments and storage facilities.

The Henderson Group, a real estate development firm in Lester, has announced recipients of its broker of the year awards. The recipients are Barry Greenburg with Lanard and Axilbund Inc. in Philadelphia; Steve Italiano with Coldwell Banker in Wayne and Tony Rossi with Jackson-Cross Co. in Philadelphia.

Autobahn Motor Cars, a Mercedes-Benz dealership at 700 Garrett Rd. in Upper Darby, plans to move in August to a new location at 5018 Township Line Rd. in Drexel Hill.

Gerd Opderbeck, president of Autobahn Motor Cars, has said that the new location will be more accessible to customers from the Media, Main Line and Newtown Square areas.

The Drexel Hill facility offers 23,000 square feet of space in comparison with 18,000 square feet at the Garrett Road facility. The new location will provide space for 20 bays. The Garrett Road facility has 14 bays.
