Jim Masserio of Toftrees Country Club, State College, Pa., won individual pro honors yesterday with a 5-under-par 66 in the Pro-Amateur Golf Tournament of the Philadelphia PGA at the Eagle Lodge Country Club.

Masserio, former Pennsylvania Open champion, birdied three of the first four holes, and made three more birdies on the back nine, to prevail by a stroke in a tuneup effort for the 54-hole $100,000 Philadelphia PGA Championship, which starts this morning and continues through Sunday afternoon. Masserio won the championship in 1984.

In a tie for second place were Miguel Biamon of Whitemarsh Valley CC, Noel Caruso of Westover CC and Stu Ingraham of Waynesborough CC, all at 67.
