81-year-old Hurt In Cheltenham Fire

Firefighters battle a house fire in which an 81-year-old Glenside man suffered critical injuries Tuesday morning. William Ciocca, of the 600 block of Roosevelt Avenue, was rescued from his second-floor bedroom by firefighters after being overcome by smoke inhalation, said Cheltenham Fire Marshal Michael Moonblatt. It took about two hours for firefighters from the Ogontz and Glenside Fire Companies to extinguish the blaze, which was reported at 12:02 a.m. Ciocca was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital and transferred to Crozer- Chester Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition yesterday.
