Doing It Themselves For A Worthy Cause

Posted: June 18, 1989

Every Saturday since March, volunteers with the Burlington County Habitat for Humanity have turned out to fix up a vacant house in Mount Holly, and they were out again yesterday. Habitat for Humanity, a group that Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter helped make famous, builds or repairs low-cost homes across the United States and in other countries. Yesterday's work was part of Habitat's house-raising week, in which homes were to be dedicated in San Diego and Bolivia. Local volunteers hope to finish their house in September, and then move on to the next project.
