Grimsley Guides Barons Past Toledo

MOOSIC, Pa. — Jason Grimsley allowed four hits in seven innings to lift the Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre Red Barons to a 4-2 victory over the Toledo Mud Hens in an International League game last night.

Grimsley struck out six and walked three.

HARRISBURG - Gary Alexander hit a three-run homer in the second inning to lift the Reading Phillies to a victory in the second game of an Eastern League doubleheader against the Harrisburg Senators.

In the first game, Terry Crowley singled home Julio Peguero with one out in the seventh to give Harrisburg the victory.

Reading's Kim Batiste went to the plate nine times in the doubleheader and reached base the first eight times. He went 4 for 4 in the opener.
