Unbeaten North Philadelphia welterweight William "The Hammer" Jones picked up his 15th straight professional victory with a first-round technical knockout of New York City's Miguel Rojas last night at the Blue Horizon.
Jones floored Rojas with a straight right to the chin for a mandatory eight-count midway into the first round. Shortly after Jones resumed his attack, referee Ray Paquette stopped the bout at 2 minutes, 16 seconds of the first round, and awarded Jones (15-0) his 13th knockout victory, seventh in the first round.
