Franklin Mint Names President

Thomas E. Durovsik of Bryn Mawr has been appointed president of the Franklin Mint, which creates fine-quality collectibles and is a large direct- response marketer.

Durovsik joined the Mint in 1985 as a director of marketing. During his tenure, he has served as vice president of home decor and vice president of advertising. In November, he was promoted to executive vice president of marketing and sales.

The Franklin Mint is based in Franklin Center, Pa., and has international offices in 22 countries.

Tracie Harper Iannarella of Rosemont has been appointed director of marketing for Philadelphia Marriott West, scheduled to open this fall at the Tower Bridge Corporate Park in West Conshohocken. Harper is responsible for the sales and marketing division of the 288-room property, which will offer more than 9,000 square feet of space for business and social occasions.

Harper began her hotel career in California in 1977 with the Santa Clara Marriott. Most recently served as director of marketing for the Harrisburg Marriott.

Robert N. Sandler of Bryn Mawr has joined the Philadelphia law firm of Saul, Ewing, Remick & Saul as a partner and a member of the firm's employee benefits group.

Sandler is the former managing partner of the New York office of the law firm of Reinhart, Boerner, Van Deuren, Norris & Reiselbach. Before practicing in New York, Sandler was an employee benefits specialist at the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington. He also has served as a director of the National Employee Benefits Institute, a benefits lobbying organization.

Ann M. Casey of Lansdale has been named general manager of the Gregg Conference Center at the American College in Bryn Mawr. Casey brings to the position more than 20 years experience in the conference center industry, including serving as a consultant and later general manager of the St. Davids Inn in St. Davids. The Gregg Center is a full-service conference facility with a wide range of meeting rooms, 50 guest rooms and dining services for up to 300 people.

Joseph J. McLaughlin of Rosemont has been appointed to the 1991-92 board of directors of the National Council of Savings Institutions. The organization represents about 350 savings banks, savings and loan associations, and cooperative banks involved in community banking. McLaughlin is president of Beneficial Savings Bank.
