Shoulder Work On Green Has Phils Upbeat

Posted: October 14, 1992

ATLANTA — The Phillies got some encouraging medical news for a change yesterday, particularly on prized prospect Tyler Green.

Green had his ailing right shoulder treated yesterday in Los Angeles by Dodgers physician Frank Jobe.

According to Phils physician Phillip Marone, Jobe cleaned some debris from Green's shoulder, but did not think that the problem warranted a more serious operation.

Marone said that Green, the club's No. 1 pick in the 1991 draft, was given a rehabilitation program and should be ready for spring training.

Also, pitcher Terry Mulholland, whose right knee was cleaned arthroscopically last week in Phoenix, should be ready for the start of spring training as well, according to Marone.

In another development, Phillies third baseman Dave Hollins was named to replace the Braves' Terry Pendleton on a tour of Japan by major-league players later this month. Catcher Darren Daulton also is on the team of major-league players.
