Joseph Connor, 84, Professor

Joseph G. Connor Sr., 84, a college professor and administrator, died Tuesday at his home in Ocean City, N.J.

Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Connor was a 1926 graduate of Roman Catholic High School. He graduated from st. Joseph's College in 1933 with a degree in philosophy.

In 1946, he joined George Washington University as a physics instructor. He later became registrar for the university.

He completed his doctorate in philosophy at Georgetown in 1958. In 1963, he was appointed dean of graduate studies at Seton Hall University. He retired in 1974.

Surviving are his sons, Joseph G. Jr., Gerald R., Terence G. and Kyran; a sister; a brother; 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Godfrey's Funeral Home, 644 S. Shore Rd., Palermo, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel, 40th Street and Asbury Avenue, Ocean City. Burial will be at Seaside Cemetery in Palermo.
