Reading Defeats Baysox, 8-7

READING — An error by Bowie first baseman Brent Miller in the 10th inning allowed Reading's David Fisher to score the winning run last night as the Phillies defeated the Bowie Baysox, 8-7, in an Eastern League game.

Tom Nuneviller, Jon Zuber and David Tokheim all hit home runs for Reading.

Nuneviller's three-run homer in the ninth inning tied the game at 7, sending it into extra innings.

Reliever Bob Wells (1-3) pitched two innings for Reading, allowing just one hit while striking out two to get his first win of the season.

Dave Paveloff (0-1) took the loss for Bowie.

Last night's scheduled International League game between the Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre Red Barons and the Norfolk Tides was rained out in Norfolk, Va. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader tomorrow beginning at 6:15 p.m.
