A native of Lansdale, he graduated from North Penn High School and attended Montgomery County Community College for two years. He received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and business in 1984 from the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. He received a master's degree in criminal justice administration from West Chester University last year.
Mr. Davis' sister-in-law, Lisa Reichwein, said he was a motorcycle buff who got his first bike when he was 18. He also loved reading and history. He enjoyed roller-blading, scuba diving and running.
"He was an action kind of guy," she said. "If it was fun, he'd give it a try."
Mr. Davis was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police of Montgomery County No. 14; the American Polygraph Association; the American Society for Industrial Security; St. John's United Church of Christ, Lansdale; Shiloh Lodge No. 558 F. & A.M, Lansdale, and the Lehigh Consistory, Allentown.
Surviving are his wife, Laurie; his mother, Dorothy, and a sister, Barbara Davis Simpers.
A viewing will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Derstine and Cannon Avenues in Lansdale. Services will follow at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
