Common Sense Has Horsepower

Common sense provides us the ability to differentiate right and wrong. Whether for a huge moral question (e.g., abortion) or for simple household safeguards (keeping sharp objects away from children), common sense is the compass that allows us to think, determine a course of action, and predict the outcome of those actions.

But common sense is under siege. Elected officials, activists and others use the mainstream media to bombard us with an agenda that defies this internal compass. As Hitler cultivated the tide of nationalism in 1930s Germany, so too are these groups attempting to spread their "inspired" agenda to achieve uninspired goals.

Utilizing the powers they control, government, media and educational institutions administer their morally vacant ideologies. They even tell us what our children should learn (condoms and perhaps where some relative lived hundreds of years ago). Each effort removes responsibility, virtue, American identity and pride. They create dependence, while weaning citizens of that

troublesome component, common sense.

Our common sense must defy these attempts. Whenever increasing sums of money are taken from paychecks to feed a bloated bureaucracy, our internal compass acknowledges and reacts. When millions of our country's youngest citizens are snuffed out just as their journey in this world has begun, when morals and values like honor, truth, self-sacrifice and love of country are disparaged, when individuals in the public eye desecrate God and good while ignoring the ills caused by their self-righteous agenda, our ever-keen common sense reacts.

As a nation with renewed commitment to common sense, we are fighting back. Our vote has made it clear we will no longer accept truth and virtue as sacrificial lambs at the altar of political correctness. The major media can no longer force-feed society their diet of crisis du jour and self-indulgence, neglecting the beliefs of the majority.

We the people have made a clear choice. We have entrusted the Republican leadership with our voice. To succeed, they must work with us to guide America back to its heights. They must seek only truth when surrounded by lies, only right when immersed in a sea of wrongs. Most important, they must recognize our desire to retake our responsibility and freedom. We insist that they get out of our lives and let us use the good sense we were born with, our common sense.
