Teddy Outgrows Her 'Sisters'

Sela Ward says she'll leave her Emmy-winning work playing Teddy on ''Sisters" after this season to return to films.

"It will be six years. My contract will be up. It's time for me to move on," Ward, 39, tells the Sept. 2 issue of TV Guide.

The series about four sisters has been great, says Ward, "but films are just creatively more gratifying."

Ward says Teddy will get shot in the head at the start of the season. She'll awake from a coma to have an affair with her surgeon.

In the meantime, Ward stars in a Lifetime network movie, "Almost Golden: The Jessica Savitch Story," about the late network news reporter.

HUGH BRUTES

Drunken youths in a trendy London cafe taunted Hugh Grant about his recent arrest with a prostitute, shouting "Hugh rat!" and "Is your wine divine?"

The scene degenerated into a brawl as two youths tried to block Grant's exit, swinging at him and missing, the News of the World said yesterday.

The movie star did not throw a punch, and managed to leave unharmed. But he was spattered with one brawler's blood.

The incident occurred Aug. 12 at Mas Cafe in the gentrified Notting Hill area, the newspaper said.

Cafe management declined to press charges because the attackers were regulars, the paper reported.
