What, no pipe bombs?Cops also reported finding 50 grams of pot chez Biggie.
Seven of the rapper's friends from the group Junior MAFIA were there, too, and also charged with drug possession. One of them, James ``L'il Caesar'' Lloyd, was charged with possession of a gun and hollow-point bullets.
All were arraigned, then released from municipal court. Biggie's out on $150,000 bail, Lloyd on $50,000.
IN OTHER HOT SEATS * Another gun-toting knucklehead, sitcom comic Martin Lawrence, was arrested at the Burbank, Calif., airport Monday night when security guards found a loaded handgun in his luggage. ``He said he thought it was OK to carry it on the plane if he was going out of state,'' an airport police sergeant reported. (No, actually, that's not allowed.) Later, Lawrence's flack tried another approach: He said the actor didn't know the gun was in the bag.
Lawrence was released, but will have to appear in court Aug. 12. He could face up to a year in prison for the misdemeanor charge. The court may take into consideration that it was just three months ago cops found him screaming and waving a gun around a busy L.A. intersection.
* Rapper and producer Warren G - Warren Griffin III to his mom - was charged Tuesday in Beverly Hills with carrying a loaded gun in his truck. Two misdemeanors for Mr. G! This comes a week after the musician was arrested, but not charged, in relation to a shooting outside an L.A. club last month.
* R&B guy R. Kelly blew off a heavily promoted appearance last weekend at the Lafayette, La., Cajundome. So organizers confiscated $300,000 worth of his band's equipment. His excuse for not showing? Kelly and friends got into a fight over a basketball game before the show, and one guy ended up at the hospital. Police are investigating the singer's involvement.
