Chamber In Chesco Sets Workshop

The Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry is planning a morning workshop March 3 for employers who want to know more about their rights and obligations under Pennsylvania's new workers'-compensation law.

The program at the West Chester Holiday Inn will include discussion of guidelines for employee notification, new forms, insurance fraud, and medical standards for determining disability.

The program should help employers save money by fully understanding the new law, said Robert Powelson, president of the chamber. Call the group at 610-436-7696 for workshop details.

LAW * The Chester County Bar Foundation in West Chester has received a $7,000 grant from the Philadelphia Foundation to promote the bar foundation's reduced-fee program. The program is now assessing potential clients for eligibility based on their income and cases. For information, call 610-431-6200.

BUSINESS * Robert A. Luksa of Conshohocken, vice chairman of Philadelphia Suburban Water Co., retired this month after 41 years with the company. He began his career as a draftsman in 1955 and capped it in 1986, when he became president and chief operating officer.

* Dennis J. Mouras of Malvern has been made president of Intracorp in Philadelphia. The firm provides services to manage medical and disability costs associated with insurance claims.

* Larry Dunleavy of Honey Brook Township has joined GMH Realty Inc. in King of Prussia as a vice president. The commercial brokerage firm specializes in corporate and institutional real estate.

EVENTS * Representatives from banks and construction businesses will be on hand to meet with consumers at the Delco Chamber of Commerce home-improvement show from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 28 and March 1, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 2, at Granite Run Mall near Media.
