Dorothy Porter's 3-and-2 victory over Wilmington's Peggy Petrillo helped Riverton Country Club gain its first triumph in the Women's Golf Association of Philadelphia's interclub team matches.
Riverton picked up the 5-2 win yesterday in the Philadelphia Cup competition on its home course.
Riverton's Joanne Hendrickson and Lisa Mellas each won their matches, 4 and 3, and Marianne Hajduk and Virgil Maderich posted triumphs on the last two holes.
Also in the third round of the Philadelphia Cup, which features the area's top six club teams in a round-robin format, Merion stayed unbeaten with a 5-2 win over Spring Ford, and Huntingdon Valley topped Gulph Mills, 5-2.
