``This is so ridiculous - a joke,'' Mom said. ``And it is so unfair to Liv and her boyfriend of three years, Joaquin Phoenix. It is unfair to Bruce, as well.''
Funny how Liv's mom didn't think any of this was unfair to the Demi. ``He respected the fact that she was committed to Joaquin,'' Buell went on, ``and I really don't think he is interested in seducing children, anyway.''
Buell guessed that the mess may have been inspired by her daughter's habit of hugging and kissing eveybody. ``If anybody saw her hugging Bruce Willis, well, that's just he way she is.'' Bruce and Demi separated last month after 10 years of marriage.
Pulp Nonfiction
Disturbing filmmaker Quentin Tarantino pleaded innocent yesterday to charges he assaulted a woman in a Manhattan restaurant. Tarantino, 35, and his attorney, Paul Callan, said the charges against the maker of ``Reservoir Dogs'' and ``Pulp Fiction'' were fabricated. In court, Callan actually called the charges ``pulp fiction.''
``This is the first time I have ever been blackmailed,'' Tarantino said outside court.
Fashion stylist Leila Mwangi, 25, alleges that during Tarantino's May 1 visit to the Three of Cups restaurant in the East Village, the filmmaker tried to punch the stylist's boyfriend, Barron Claiborne, but missed him and slugged her instead. She said the punch cut her forehead.
Callan said his client was being harassed and stalked by Claiborne and that the criminal and civil case amounted to extortion. The misdemeanor charge is punishable by up to a year in jail. Tarantino, who was released on his own recognizance, was due back in court on Sept. 9.
