Players Of Week: Rams' Rotonda, Wildcats' Nesley

Spring-Ford quarterback Jamie Rotonda and Owen J. Roberts linebacker Chuck Nesley have been named offensive and defensive players of the week by the Chester County Football Coaches Association.

In Spring-Ford's 42-0 Pioneer Athletic Conference victory over Pottstown, Rotonda completed 9 of 11 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns as the Rams evened their record at 1-1.

For Owen J. Roberts, Nesley helped to hold Upper Perkiomen to seven points from his linebacker position as the Wildcats also won their PAC-10 opener, 23-7. A week earlier, the Wildcats allowed 43 points in a loss to Strath Haven.

The Chester County coaches also honored the following players:

Coatesville quarterback Sean Schellenger and linebacker Dave Reimund; Conestoga running back Marquis Weeks and safety Rich Watson; Downingtown wide receiver Matt Ellis and defensive end Mike Welsh; West Chester East tight end Brendan Logue and defensive tackle Steve Kovach; Great Valley running back Marcus Ford-Bey and linebacker Sean Thomson; West Chester Henderson wide receiver Omar Harris and defensive end Mike Kamon; Owen J. Roberts tailback Matt Lucas and Nesley; Oxford running back Jared Evans and linebacker Lamont Clarke; Phoenixville running back Mike Novia and defensive tackle C.J. Mattiola; Spring-Ford defensive end Steve Kodish and Rotonda; and Unionville wide receiver Shea Pallante and defensive end Jason Edwards.
