Truett produced the pornographic films in his apartment at 23d and Walnut Streets. Operating as Big Daddy Redd Productions, he starred in his videos and produced more than 100 titles in a series called Steamy Hot Sex, police said.
Two runaways, 14 and 15, testified at an earlier hearing that they had met Truett on the street and that he asked them whether they wanted to be paid to make movies. They said yes. A third teen testified that when she was 14, Truett brought a video camera and several men to her home and she performed sex acts on tape.
Police arrested Truett on Feb. 9 and seized the equipment he used to make his tapes as well as a customized 1994 BMW and a 1995 Ford van. Police also raided sex shops around Philadelphia and seized Truett's tapes.
Richette revoked Truett's $350,000 bail and set sentencing for Dec. 14.
Truett's co-defendant, William Chong, 25, was found guilty yesterday of one count each of sexual assault on a child, corrupting the morals of a minor, statutory sexual assault, and indecent assault.
Two other men arrested in the case, Michael Hall, 22, and Eric Richardson, 20, have each pleaded guilty to sexual assault and corrupting the morals of a child and are awaiting sentencing.
