Louder! All right, kids, start barking. Louder.
Louder!
That's enough. But be prepared to bark on cue - as two actors will explain before the performance of The One Hundred and One Dalmatians at the Keswick Theatre on Sunday.
Dorothy Smith's classic story of the abducted puppies has been a Disney cartoon and a live-action film with Glenn Close. The Sail Productions' show at the Keswick makes a few changes - for one, human actors portray the dalmatians.
Sail, founded in 1993 and based in Readington, N.J., is a touring company that presents plays and musicals for children.
The One Hundred and One Dalmatians at the Keswick Theatre, Easton Road and Keswick Avenue, Glenside, at 2 and 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets: $7. Phone: 215-572-7650. Web: www.keswicktheatre.com
Touche! You remember that classic Thurber cartoon of the swordsman slashing off the head of his opponent and crying, Touche!
I don't think anything like that's going to happen at the Mid-Atlantic Junior Championship tournament tomorrow and Sunday at the gym in Strath Haven Middle School. The 150 or so teenage fencers are well-protected.
The tournament, for men and women fencers under 20, is in foil, epee and sabre. Six competitions will be held during the two days, with the top 30 percent of the fencers eligible to compete at the national competition in Austin, Texas, in July.
