Burlington's Soukup Wins With 67

Burlington Country Club's Jim Soukup used his 7 handicap to turn a 74 into the day's best net score of 3-under-par 67 and win the Golf Association of Philadelphia's second handicap tournament yesterday on his home course.

The Golf Association of Philadelphia's team of Downingtown's Reid Benditt, Merion's Tug Maude, Laurel Creek's Chris Binder, and Philadelphia Country Club's John Sawin captured the A. Fred Williamson Cup for junior boys at Bridgewater Country Club in Canada.

Pitman's Orist Wells used a 4-under 68 at the Shawnee Inn to take a 1-shot lead into the final round of the Shawnee Open. Wells leads an 83-player field of local professionals.
