John Slaney scored a power-play goal 1 minute, 24 seconds into overtime as the Phantoms beat Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last night, 3-2, in an American Hockey League game at the Wachovia Spectrum.

The Phantoms went on the power play less than a minute into overtime when Slaney skated into the right circle and fired a shot that deflected past goalie Andy Chiodo for his 16th goal, tops among AHL defensemen.

Kirby Law added a goal and an assist for the Phantoms, and Ben Stafford had the other goal. *
