Friendly, and fond of nature

Posted: November 21, 2005

Gerald loves outdoor activities, especially anything that involves nature. When the 9-year-old is inside, you can frequently find him absorbed in playing video and board games. He also enjoys going to the movies.

Gerald gets along well with other children his age and makes friends easily. His social worker says he is well-mannered and a pleasure to be around.

A good student, Gerald is enrolled in special-education classes where he focuses on strengthening his reading and language-arts skills. With a lot of practice and help from his foster mother, he has made great strides.

Gerald likes helping out at his foster home and cheerfully empties the trash. He takes pride in keeping his bedroom neat and clean.

In foster care for most of his life, Gerald has experienced many disruptions and disappointments. He yearns for a "forever" home. He would benefit greatly from having a committed, patient adoptive family that would give him love, affection, stability and, most of all, the attention that he needs. He is eligible for financial subsidy.

This child and others are available for adoption by approved applicants. For more information, contact the National Adoption Center, 1500 Walnut St., Suite 701, Philadelphia 19102; call 215-735-9988; or visit the Web site at www.adopt.org.
