Soul at Columbus Destroyers

Records: Soul 4-2; Columbus 3-3

When: Tonight, 7:30

Where: Nationwide Arena

Line: Columbus by 2.

Over/under: 104.

Radio: WPEN (950-AM).

All-time series: The teams have split six meetings, but the Destroyers have won the last three.

What's at stake: The Soul has lost its last two and could use a win in a big way. A win for Columbus would push it past the Soul and into second place in the AFL East.

About the Soul: Defensive lineman Jason Davis tore a knee last week and is out for the season. Wide receiver Larry Brackins has a hamstring injury and won't play. The team signed former Detroit Lion Scottie Vines and expect him to play. Defensive back Mike Brown (hamstring) also is out, allowing Aric Williams to make his AFL debut.

About Columbus: Soul coach Bret Munsey says the Destroyers will be his team's toughest test. Quarterback Matt Nagy set a franchise record with nine touchdown passes in last week's 72-49 thumping of Austin. It was the second-most points in franchise history. Nagy is third in the AFL with a passer rating of 116.2.

Poll position: The Soul is ranked fifth by the league's sports writers. Its only two losses have come to Dallas and Georgia, the league's top two teams. Columbus' win over Austin last week moved it up to No. 11 (out of 19).

Up next: The Soul will end a stretch of three consecutive road games with a visit to third-ranked Chicago (6-1). The Rush defeated Grand Rapids on Saturday, 75-54.

Notable stat: The Soul's turnover differential in its four wins is plus-9. In their two losses, it's minus-3.

Did you know? Columbus wide receiver Tony Locke (eight catches, 96 yards this season) played the role of the Giants' Ray Rhodes in the movie "Invincible."
