'Nova's Curtis second in 5,000

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Villanova's Bobby Curtis finished second in the 5,000-meter run in last night's NCAA track and field championships.

Curtis ran a 13:39.88 in finishing behing Wisconsin's Chris Solinsky, who ran a 13:35.12.

UCLA sophomore Nicole Leach (West Cathlolic High) was the fastest qualifier in the 400 hurdles with a time of 55.69. The final is today, and she also has qualified for the 4-by-400 relay final.

On Thursday, La Salle senior Sean Quigley finished fourth in the 10,000-meter race in 28:59.29.

The fourth-place finish gave Quigley All-America status for the fourth consecutive year . *
