Holy Ghost Prep's Andrew Strenge hit an RBI double in the bottom of the ninth inning yesterday to lift the Suburban One National/Bicentennial League all-stars to a 6-5 victory over Berks County in the Carpenter Cup Classic.

In the second game at Penn's Meiklejohn Stadium, the Suburban One American and Continental all-stars beat New Jersey's Tri-Cape stars, 7-5.

Pennridge's Zach Huff and Jenkintown's Jim Hughes combined for five scoreless innings and seven strikeouts to nail down the victory in the first game. Hughes picked up the win.

"It's a good thing for us," said Holy Ghost coach Keith Smeraglio, who managed the winning team in the first game. "We got away with not playing our best game. We had mistakes early that cost us some runs. You don't usually win games like that."

Central Bucks East's Matt Tenaglia hit a two-run homer to pace Suburban One American and Continental. C.B. West's Nick Donato struck out three batters in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Rain forced yesterday's final game between Delaware South and Jersey Shore to be postponed until tomorrow. However, because Delaware South is unable to field a team tomorrow, Jersey Shore will pick up a forfeit win.

Three games are scheduled for today: Delaware North vs. Mercer County at 9 a.m.; Burlington County vs. Inter-Ac/Independents at 12:30 p.m.; and Delaware County vs. Lehigh County at 4 p.m.
