Man's body found on roof of W. Phila. building

Posted: June 19, 2007

The body of a man whose head and face showed signs of a severe beating was found on the roof of an abandoned building in West Philadelphia shortly after 6 a.m. yesterday, police said.

Police said Timothy Bradly, 27, of Columbus Boulevard in South Philadelphia, was pronounced dead at the scene, in the 200 block of South 49th Street, by a medic.

Police believe the beating may have resulted from an argument. They are looking for a man and woman who may be possibly involved.

Sgt. Anthony McFadden of the Homicide Division described Bradly as an unemployed transient. He said it was common for young people to squat in abandoned buildings in the neighborhood and party on the roofs. - Art Carey
