Sixers looking at ex-BC player

The 76ers, doing their due diligence, dispatched assistant coach Moses Malone to Houston yesterday to observe a workout for 6-10 former Boston College forward Sean Williams.

President/general manager Billy King confirmed they were awaiting word from Williams' agent on whether Williams would come to Philadelphia tomorrow. Williams, who was dismissed from his college team this past season for repeated violations of team rules, has been training with former Sixers coach/general manager John Lucas.

The New Jersey Nets and the Golden State Warriors were also on hand.

Williams blocked a Boston College-record 75 shots in only 15 games during the season, including 13 against Duquesne; he averaged 12.1 points and 6.9 rebounds. *
