Drafts King Has Ruled Over

The Sixers haven't had three picks in the first round of the draft since 1984, when they took Charles Barkley (No. 5 overall), Leon Wood (No. 10) and Tom Sewell (No. 22). Billy King will get three this year with a chance to remake the team. Here's a look at how the Sixers have done with their draft picks since King joined the front office in 1997:


1997-1-2-Keith Van Horn-Draft night trade to New Jersey brought in Tim Thomas, Jim Jackson and Eric Montross. Thomas eventually went in March '99 deal that yields Tyrone Hill.

1997-2-34-Marko Milic-Played 44 games in league with the Suns.

1997-2-36-Kebu Stewart-Played 15 games in one season for Sixers.

1997-2-37-James Collins-Traded to Clippers on draft night.

1998-1-8-Larry Hughes-Taken one pick before Dirk Nowitzki and two before Paul Pierce. Left in deal that brought Toni Kukoc here. Just played for Cleveland in NBA Finals.

1998-2-37-Casey Shaw-Career with Sixers lasted all of 14 minutes.

1999-2-47-Todd MacCulloch-Foot problem ended his career after three seasons in Philly.

2000-1-20-Speedy Claxton-Semi-productive one season with team, now with Atlanta.

2000-2-48-Mark Karcher-Temple product never played here.

2001-1-26-Samuel Dalembert-Career averages are 7.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.2 fouls.

2001-2-37-Damone Brown-Time here lasted 17 games.

2001-2-57-Alvin Jones-Played 23 games in one season with club.

2002-1-16-Jiri Welsch-Averaged 9.2 points for Celtics in 2003-04.

2002-2-45-Sam Clancy-No action in NBA.

2003-2-50-Paccelis Morlende-Never played in league.

2004-1-9-Andre Iguodala-Allen Iverson's departure in 2006-07 paved way for career highs in points (18.2) and assists (5.7).

2005-2-45-Louis Williams-With change to play, averaged 25.6 minutes, 11.0 points in April.

2006-1-13-Thabo Sefolosha-Traded for rights to Rodney Carney.
