Two men in their 20s were gunned down in separate nighttime homicides in North Philadelphia.

Shortly after 7 p.m. yesterday, a man, 26, was shot in the hand and torso at A and Westmoreland Street.

He was driven by car to Episcopal Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:35 p.m.

Police today identified the victim as Wilson Garcia, 19, of the 3300 block of North Howard Street.

A man Garcia had previously clashed with approached him about 7 p.m. and shot him in the stomach with a 9 mm handgun, police said.

About 1 a.m., a man presumed to be in his 20s was shot in the back near Sydenham and Dauphin Streets.

He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:19 a.m.

Police were still trying to determine his identity this morning, as well as motives and suspects in both cases.
