Eagles waive Tuiasosopo

Posted: July 10, 2007

The Eagles waived fullback Zach Tuiasosopo today.

Tuiasosopo spent last season on the Eagles' practice squad. The 6-foot-2, 245-pound Washington product signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a rookie free agent in 2005. He split time between the Steelers and the Oakland Raiders' practice squad during the 2005 season.

The Eagles are already deep with fullback prospects entering training camp, which opens with rookies and selected veterans reporting to training camp on July 27.

The Eagles return starting fullback Thomas Tapeh. They also have second-year player Jason Davis, who spent last season injured reserve. Jeremy Cain will also enter training camp with the Eagles. Cain doubles as a long snapper, which means he'll try to earn his way onto the team as a special teams player.

The Eagles ordinarily keep only one fullback.
