Odds on various potential Eagles punt returners Monday night against Washington:

RENO MAHE (even money): Didn't think Andy Reid would hold out even this long. Come home to papa!

GREG LEWIS (1,000-1): You figure he fielded five punts Sunday, and made bad decisions on three of them. That's not an encouraging ratio.

J.R. REED (20-1): He's never been a punt returner, and he had to become one late in a regular-season game. He made one bad decision. You could argue that Reed, tough and fearless, deserves another chance at some point. But maybe that point shouldn't be this week.

BRIAN WESTBROOK (5-1): The best choice, from a potential results standpoint, but also the riskiest. If he gets hurt back there, it won't matter who returns the punts for the rest of the year.

SOMEBODY ELSE (3-1): Bethel Johnson is available yet again. He's more of a kick returner, though. Bill Sampy, on the Eagles' practice squad, would be a possibility if his injured quad was 100 percent. Does anyone have a phone number for Wally Henry? *
