Two people died and three were injured in a five-vehicle collision last night on Roosevelt Boulevard in Northeast Philadelphia.
Officials said the accident occurred about 7:30 p.m. in the 8800 block, near Winchester Avenue. The operator of a northbound red Pontiac lost control and the vehicle crossed into the southbound lane, striking two other vehicles, officials said. A male and female in the Pontiac, who were not identified, were both ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
Three occupants from the other two vehicles sustained minor injuries and were taken to Nazareth Hospital, where they were in stable condition, officials said. Southbound lanes remained closed late last evening.- Kathleen Brady Shea
