Dickinson edges Franklin and Marshall

Ian Mitchell threw two long touchdowns and ran for 130 yards and another score as Dickinson held off Franklin and Marshall, 28-21, in Lancaster last night.

Mitchell opened the scoring with a 54-yard TD toss to Chris McInerney in the first quarter to give the Red Devils (3-0) a 7-0 lead. Franklin and Marshall (0-2) tied the score about two minutes later when Kyle Turner hooked up with George Eager for a 17-yard touchdown.

Mitchell's second scoring toss came later in the quarter when he connected on a 46-yard TD to Pat O'Conner that put Dickinson ahead, 14-7.

Turner threw for 328 yards and three touchdowns, but was also picked off three times.

Wesley 31, Widener 17 - Jason Schatz threw for 233 yards and three touchdowns and Larry Beavers scored on an 89-yard kickoff return to lead the Wolverines (3-0) to a win over the Pride (1-1) in Chester, Pa.

Mike Pennewell also rushed 12 times for 181 yards for the Wolverines. Matt Campbell threw for 249 yards and two TDs, but was also picked off twice for Widener.

Campbell opened the scoring with a 33-yard TD to Tim Kilkenny early in the first quarter, capping a six-play, 66-yard drive that took just under three minutes.

Schatz answered with a 79-yard scoring toss to Larry Beavers, followed by a 29-yard strike to Michael Clarke that made it 14-6.

Campbell threw another TD to Jamie Schild and the team exchanged field goals to end the half.

After the break, Beavers returned the kickoff for a TD to put the game away.

In the fourth, Schatz capped a 10-play, 84-yard drive with a 2-yard TD to Jon Lanouette, but Widener would get no closer.

Gettysburg 41, Johns Hopkins 10 - Quarterback Matt Flynn threw for one touchdown and rushed for two more as the Bullets (2-1, 1-0 Centennial) ripped the Blue Jays (1-2, 0-1) in Baltimore.

College of New Jersey 53, FDU-Florham 7 - Dan Dornacker rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns as the Lions (1-1) beat up the Devils (1-1) in Ewing, N.J.
