Eagles - Ravens eye McNabb?

Posted: February 04, 2008

GLENDALE, Ariz. - It's all well and good for ESPN's Chris Mortensen to report that the Baltimore Ravens "are seriously considering" trading for Donovan McNabb, but for that to actually happen the Eagles would have to want to trade him. Coach Andy Reid and other Eagles sources repeatedly have said that McNabb will be the team's quarterback in 2008.

Of course, there is always the chance that a team could make an offer so lucrative the Eagles would have to consider it. And Baltimore's long-rumored interest takes on an additional dimension, now that former Eagles assistant John Harbaugh is the team's head coach.

Any Ravens package for McNabb would probably have to start with the eighth overall pick in the 2008 draft.

Mortensen yesterday presented McNabb as one of the options the Ravens might pursue to solidify their quarterbacking. There has been speculation that McNabb's hometown Chicago Bears might also be interested, but again, no evidence of Eagles interest in making such a deal. *
