REDS 6, PHILLIES 2
Just as they had in the Game 1 of their first NLCS game the day before - and as they would 2 days later in Game 3 - the Phillies jumped out to an early lead against a Cincinnati Reds team that would sweep through seven postseason games.Phillies righthander Jim Lonborg took a no-hitter in the sixth inning, riding a Bob Boone RBI single and a Greg Luzinski solo homer.
But future Phillie Pete Rose broke up the no-no with a single, the Big Red floodgates opened and it was quickly 4-2, and the Reds added two more in the seventh.
