Tampa Bay at Dallas, 1
New York Giants at Pittsburgh, 4:15
Standings watch
A week after the NFC East field came back to the Eagles with a Birds victory and losses by everyone else, Washington and the New York Giants bounced back with victories. Dallas, meanwhile, stumbled badly, getting beaten up by St. Louis and falling to a half-game ahead of the Eagles.
Giant marks
The Giants improved to 5-1, their best six-game start since they were 5-1 in 1993. They also improved to 4-0 at home this season, which is one victory more than they had in Giants Stadium each of the previous 2 years. The Giants travel to Pittsburgh, host Dallas and then visit the Linc in their next three games.
Injury report
-- Dallas safety Roy Williams broke his right forearm for the second time, in his first game back from the previous injury, and owner Jerry Jones said he will miss the remainder of the season.
-- Giants middle linebacker Antonio Pierce was inactive because of a strained quad muscle. Kicker Lawrence Tynes, who is recovering from a knee injury, declared himself healthy last week, but was inactive.
-- Washington starting cornerback Shawn Springs was inactive (calf) against Cleveland, and Fred Smoot was inserted into the lineup despite a nagging groin injury. Running back Ladell Betts missed the game with a sprained knee.
By the numbers
-- Terrell Owens had two catches for 31 yards. He has been held to two catches in three of the last five games. The Cowboys are 2-3 during that span.
-- The Giants registered six sacks for the third time this season. They also had six against St. Louis and Cincinnati.
