Paul Domowitch's report card

November 03, 2008|RUSHING OFFENSE: C

RUSHING OFFENSE: C

A week after the best rushing performance of his career, Brian Westbrook had just 61 yards on 20 carries. Correll Buckhalter failed to convert a second-quarter third-and-1 run. It was the seventh unsuccessful third-and-1 run by the Eagles in 11 attempts this season.

PASSING OFFENSE: A-

After an atrocious 3-for-13 start, Donovan McNabb completed 13 passes in a row and 25 of his next 30, though he did have a bad red-zone interception. TE Brent Celek had the game of his life, catching six passes for 131 yards.

Story continues below.

RUN DEFENSE: A-

But for giving up a 28-yard run to Maurice Morris in the third quarter, the Eagles muzzled the Seahawks' ground game. Six of Seattle's 22 rushing attempts went for zero or negative yards.

PASS DEFENSE: B+

Eagles gave up a game-opening, 90-yard touchdown pass to Koren Robinson when Lito Sheppard bit on a double-move and Brian Dawkins missed a tackle. But they held Seneca Wallace to 2.8 yards per attempt the rest of the game.

SPECIAL TEAMS: A

DeSean Jackson had four double-digit punt returns, though his attempt to catch a third-quarter punt in traffic wasn't smart. David Akers made all four of his field-goal attempts and Sav Rocca had a 41.4-yard net average.

OVERALL: B+

They gave up a 90-yard TD pass to open the game and their QB completed just three of his first 13 passes. But the Eagles eventually got their act together and didn't play down to the level of the competition.
