Letters: The pain of losing B. Dawk

Posted: March 09, 2009

THE GUY from Bensalem hit it right on the head: When you're from here, you embrace an icon, somebody who stands up for you no matter what, whether it be a Frank Rizzo on the streets or a Rocky Balboa in the ring.

But the Eagle who gave us everything he could is gone due to . . . business.

I'm sick over this. It feels like a family member died. The man is our voice on that field when we are going against the toughest teams and are in the most important games. You can bet that B. Dawk is gonna fight every second for the team - and the fans. When Dawk hits a guy, the city and every fan hits them, too.

Now that he's gone, I'll never look at this team the same. I'll continue to bleed green, but a lighter shade. And don't insult us, Mr. Joe "We did everything we could" Banner. If that were true, he'd still be here.
