Cinderella tale told in dance - with some comedic surprises The Pa. Ballet will perform at the Academy of Music.

The Pennsylvania Ballet Association will present Cinderella beginning with a performance at 8 tonight at the Academy of Music.

The production features the classic story of Cinderella and her quest for Prince Charming. The show will incorporate comedic performances by the main character's stepsisters adorned in pantomime drag.

With choreography by Ben Stevenson, each performance will be set to the musical score of Sergei Prokofiev.

"Cinderella," 8 tonight; noon and 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday (additional performances available through March 21) at the Academy of Music, 240 S. Broad St. Tickets are $24-$129. Information: 215-893-1999 or www.kimmelcenter.org.

Zoo guests go green

The Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown invites families to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with its animal residents from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

During the celebration, children who wear green and bring with them a handmade card for the animals will receive free admission. Zoo animals will get treats from the zoo's staff, such as shamrock-shaped Jell-O.

St. Patrick's Day at the Zoo also will feature a Live Animal Show, question-and-answer sessions, face-painting, and crafts for participants.

Spring Training Day

The Franklin Institute will host Spring Training Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in honor of the Phillies' 2008 victory and the new season to come.

Visitors can meet with Phillies announcer Dan Baker, the Phillies Ball Girls and Phanstormers, as well as the Phillie Phanatic.

The museum will offer "dollar dogs." It will also have a Sports Challenge exhibit, allowing visitors to practice throwing pitches. The 2008 World Series Championship Trophy will be displayed from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
