Twenty-four years after Villanova University won its magical basketball championship, the men's team is taking fans on another thrilling ride.
The Wildcats defeated Big East rival Pitt Saturday night to reach the Final Four. The victory set off celebrations on campus and throughout watering holes in the city.
They don't call it "March Madness" for nothing. Coach Jay Wright's team won a wild game that saw 13 lead changes in the second half. The heroics culminated with point guard Scottie Reynolds driving the lane and sinking the winning shot with 0.5 seconds to play.
Even Pitt fans had to agree it was one of the best college games of all time. And it reminded many Villanova faithful of the championship victory over Georgetown in 1985.
