  • Phillies announcer Harry Kalas had quite a sendoff Saturday as former Phillies players and past and current brass (above from left) Ruly Carpenter, Bill Giles, Dickie Noles, David Montgomery, Garry Maddox, Larry Christenson and Dick Allen carried the casket, which is passed down the line (below left) to current Phillies. The Phillies estimated the fans at 9,000. Harry's sons Kane (center) and Todd (below) were also there to celebrate their dad's life.

IT'S FITTING that Harry Kalas will rest forever on "a long drive." After the ceremonies at Citizens Bank Park, the legendary Phillies broadcaster was buried Saturday afternoon at Laurel Hill Cemetery, on a hill overlooking Kelly Drive and the Schuylkill. Harry's grave does not yet have a headstone. Burial arrangements were made by the James A. McCafferty Funeral Home in the Northeast.
